A campaign is can be defined in many ways, most simply as a combination of marketing elements that come together to deliver leads. A campaign may consist of some or all of the following elements;

  • A website or landing page.
  • One or more Adwords campaigns.
  • One or more Mailchimp campaigns.
  • One or more SEO campaigns.

The cost per lead is the marketing expenditure required to acquire each lead. Newlytics breaks this down according to method and also provides a complete picture of total costs. In order to accurately track this, budgets must be set for the relevant method. 

Example

  • A budget of $100 per day is set for the advertising method.
  • On a given day, 10 people click on Adwords adverts.
  • Two of these people fill out a form on the website.
  • This is captured as a lead.
  • The cost per lead is calculated as BUDGET/LEADS, in this case $50 per lead.
  • If an additional budget is set for email marketing of $50 per day, the average cost per lead is $75.

In order to accurately track this, budgets must be set for the relevant method and sales must be logged on the leads page. 

Example

  • A budget of $100 per day is set for the advertising method.
  • On a given day, 10 people click on Adwords adverts.
  • Two of these people fill out a form on the website.
  • This is captured as a lead.
  • One of these leads results in a sale of $250, which is logged on the leads page.
  • The cost per sale is calculated as 1 - (SALE VALUE)/(BUDGET/SALES), in this case 150%.

Campaign Users

A campaign can have any amount of users, who will each be able to log in and view the campaign. The following user types exist;

  • Read only: lower members of staff who should only be able to view campaign data.
  • Read/write: higher members of staff who should have the ability to update leads.
  • Admin: campaign controllers who should have access to update campaign settings.
  • Blocked: previous users who should no longer have access to the campaign.

Campaign Reports

A campaign can have any amount of reports, which are each sent to a single email address. The following report types exist;

  • Daily: a report will be sent every day, with a summary of the past 24 hours' performance and comparison to the previous day.
  • Weekly: a report will be sent every week, with a summary of the past 7 days' performance and comparison to the previous week.
  • Monthly: a report will be sent every month, with a summary of the past 1 month's performance and comparison to the previous month.
